In the grand tradition of (I’m sure) everyone who has written a master’s thesis, I am currently not writing it, even though it is a writing day. But do not worry, I have not yet fallen behind my planned page count. Cohost news and a bunch of blogs to follow below.

R.I.P. Cohost

Cohost is shutting down :(

I never posted anything, but I lurked there for most of its lifetime (at least from early on enough that I got @neon). The vibes were excellent, and much to my surprise, many of the chosters I followed have started up blogs! Great news for all serial feed collectors out there. It only took me 4 years of Twitter, 7 years of the fediverse, and cohost rising and falling for me to realize that the humble blog is really my favorite format of posting.

Here’s the list of blogs from the people I happen to follow on cohost. When I drafted this post, this list had like four links, but now that I started going through my follows, wow, almost everyone on cohost has a blog. Unfortunately, a few don’t have Atom nor RSS feeds as I’m writing this, but maybe they will soon.

And Joe Wintergreen started up a forum, which fits web 1.0 vibes, but sadly does not fit in my Feed Collection: Impromptu Dot Zone.
